You can still enroll in a Health-Care Plan before the next “Open Enrollment Date” if you have a “Qualifying Event” or exception.
Don’t let yourself be one of those people! If you’re uninsured this year, now is the time to figure out whether or not you qualify for an exemption, or whether you’re going to have to pay a penalty. Be aware that the penalty for being uninsured in 2016 is much more significant than penalties in the past, either 2.5% of your household income, or $695 per person, whichever is greater.
